MEIA is Seeking a Passionate and Experienced Individual to Chair the Theatre Committee
Are you a dedicated and experienced theatre enthusiast or professional with a vision to shape the future of the theatre sector in Malta? MEIA is looking for a leader in this field to chair the Theatre Committee and help drive meaningful change within the sector.
As the Chair, you will lead the Theatre Committee in collaborative efforts to represent, promote, and advocate for the Maltese theatre community. The committee’s work focuses on identifying common challenges, envisioning solutions, and fostering positive change through lobbying, research, workshops, and other initiatives. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the growth and evolution of the Maltese theatre sector.

- The ability to collaborate effectively with fellow artists and MEIA

- A strong commitment to advocating for better policies and supporting the theatre community
Commitments
Serving as a subcommittee chair is a key leadership role within MEIA. Chairs guide discussions, set agendas, lead meetings, and ensure clear communication and documentation.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead subcommittee meetings
- Coordinate information with subcommittee members and MEIA Executive
- Ensure proposals and minutes are submitted on time
- Uphold confidentiality and MEIA protocols
- Attend MEIA’s AGM
- Participate in Meetings with ministries, organisations and stakeholders
- Potentially host an outreach event for your sector
- Engage with broader community within the represented sector
- Engage in Advocacy campaigns by consulting or issuing press statement.
Chairs help drive MEIA’s mission by steering active, engaged, and effective subcommittees.
