About MEIA
The Malta Entertainment and Arts Association (MEIA) is an independent association representative for Malta’s creative sectors. MEIA brings together professionals from diverse fields, including music, theatre, literature, visual arts, dance, film, television, design, and events. Our mission is to strengthen the creative ecosystem by advocating for better policies, fostering collaboration, and creating opportunities for growth and sustainability in the cultural and creative industries.
Nominations for Executive Committee Members
MEIA is seeking dedicated individuals to join its Executive Committee. As the governing body of the association, the Executive Committee plays a pivotal role in shaping MEIA’s strategic direction, representing the interests of Malta’s creative sectors, and ensuring the association’s continued growth and impact. The Executive Committee meets regularly and participates in strategic planning, advocacy, and the representation of MEIA’s members both locally and internationally.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Strategic Leadership: Contribute to setting MEIA’s strategic vision and ensuring its effective implementation.
- Advocacy and Representation:Represent MEIA and its members at national and international levels, advocating for policies and initiatives that benefit the creative sectors.
- Community Engagement:Foster collaboration and engagement among MEIA members, creative communities, and stakeholders.
- Governance and Oversight: Ensure good governance practices, oversee financial management, and monitor the association’s operations.
- Event and Program Development:Support the planning and execution of MEIA initiatives, events, and projects.
- Fundraising and Partnerships: Assist in identifying funding opportunities and building partnerships that enhance MEIA’s sustainability.
Executive Committee Member Profile
- MEIA welcomes applications from individuals who:
Have a background in the creative or cultural sectors, or relevant experience in governance, advocacy, or community engagement. - Must be MEIA members.
- Are passionate about supporting Malta’s creative industries and committed to MEIA’s mission.Possess strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Are willing to dedicate time and energy to support MEIA’s activities and attend regular committee meetings, including the Annual General Meeting.
Commitments and Experience
In addition to the above qualifications, applicants must demonstrate :
- Relevant experience in the creative or cultural sectors or significant involvement in strategic decision-making, public representation, advocacy, or governance in a related field.
- A public-facing role in contributing to public statements, press releases, media interactions, and event representation.
- Commitment to regular participation in high-level meetings, contributing to strategy development, and representing MEIA at national and international levels.
- Active engagement in the preparation and execution of MEIA events, strategy sessions, and policy advocacy efforts.
- Regular attendance at meetings, as well as additional time for contributing to initiatives, press activities, and public engagements
Meeting Frequency and Commitment
- Internal Meetings: Executive Committee meetings will take place once every six (6) weeks, with the expectation that members allocate approximately 1.5 to 2 hours per meeting.
- Ongoing Communication: There will be constant communication and updates from the President and Vice President regarding key developments and ongoing initiatives.
- Attendance Requirement: A minimum of two (2) members from the Executive Committee must be present at each meeting to ensure quorum and decision-making processes are met.
