New Role Openings within MEIA's Executive and Advisory Committees
MEIA has new position openings within its committees. We are seeking passionate individuals willing to join us in creating a stronger creative industry. We have recently also added two new sectors to MEIA’s mission, we are seeking the ideal candidates to help us integrate and elevate these new sectors’ potential and support their communities. All the positions are on a voluntary basis.
Executive Committee
Call for Vice President
Role description: The Vice President of MEIA plays a crucial role in championing the rights, growth and development of the entertainment, cultural and arts industry in Malta. This role requires a minimum of 6 years working with or within the creative sectors. The Vice President works closely with the President and the Executive Committee, together they attend meetings with government officials and entities, lobby for betterment of the sector and engage private stakeholders to support the community.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in establishing robust foundations and infrastructure of the association
- Attend Executive and Committee Meetings
- Support the President and Executive Committee in consultation processes with governmental and public stakeholders
- Share the expertise and insights in guiding MEIA’s initiatives, educational programme, and events
- Promote MEIA’s activities and membership
Qualifications:
- Passion for arts and entertainment sector
- Deep understanding of the situation of the creative industry in Malta.
- Experience working with or in the public sector.
- Experience working with funding mechanisms.
- Commitment to MEIA’s mission and values.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience in a similar role is considered an asset but not essential.
- Good negotiation skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
Advisory Committee
Call for Literature Chairperson
Role Description: The Literature Committee plays a crucial role in fostering the professionalisation of the sector and creating a collaborative approach for the community. As Chair, you will be representing the literature sector, including authors, publishers, copywriters and everyone involved in the literary community. You will become an advocate for literature within MEIA and contribute to the overall mission of the association.
Responsibilities:
- Advocate for literature sector within MEIA and the broader community
- Attend Advisory Committee Meetings
- Share feedback with the Advisory and Executive Committee on the updates and challenges within literature sector
- Advise on possible solutions to any issues occurring within the literature sector
- Support emerging and established writers, authors, publishers and copywriters
- Promote MEIA’s activities and membership
- Support initiatives, events and activities within literature sector
Qualifications:
- Experience in the fields of literature and the arts.
- Deep understanding of the situation of the literature sector in Malta.
- Commitment to MEIA’s mission and values.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
Call for Design Chairperson
Role Description: The Chair of Design Committee plays a pivotal role in supporting the design industry and its stakeholders in Malta. As Chair, you will advocate for the designers, creative design businesses and organisations and stakeholders involved in the design community.
Responsibilities:
- Advocate for design sector within MEIA and the broader community
- Attend Advisory Committee Meetings
- Share feedback with the Advisory and Executive Committee on the updates and challenges within design sector
- Advise on incentives and policies targeting the design sector
- Facilitate and support events and networking opportunities for design community members
- Promote MEIA’s activities and membership

- Passion for design and the arts
- Deep understanding of the situation of the design sector in Malta
- Commitment to MEIA’s mission and values
- Strong communication and leadership skills
Call for Youth Chairperson
Role Description: The chair of Youth Committee is a bridge between MEIA and the next generation of artists, and professionals fostering an inclusive community which empowers young creatives. As chair you will represent the voices of young artists and cultural workers to ensure that they are heard within MEIA and beyond.
Responsibilities:
- Advocate for youth sector within MEIA and the broader community
- Attend Advisory Committee Meetings
- Advise on policies and initiatives focused on young creative professionals
- Collaborate with Committee Members to design events and activities targeting young creatives
- Facilitate and support mentorship opportunities, connecting established professionals with emerging artists
- Share feedback with the Advisory and Executive Committee on the updates and challenges within youth sector
- Promote MEIA’s activities and membership
Qualifications:
- Passion for advocating for youth sector in creative industries
- Deep understanding of the situation of the young creative professionals
- Commitment to MEIA’s mission and values
- Strong communication and leadership skills
